Pubs & Restaurants

Please check individual websites for opening times. Booking advisable.

The Ring of Bells (0.9 miles, walkable)

A wonderful local pub run by Binka (brilliant landlady). We LOVE it. Plus you can walk there in 30 minutes (or 5 mins drive).  You'll find great food and a warm and friendly atmosphere. It has a well-stocked bar with local beers and ciders, an excellent wine list and a menu that changes regularly. You'll feel equally comfortable at the bar with a pint and the papers as sitting down to a delicious three course meal in the restaurant. On Thursday evenings they offer their very reasonably priced Auberge set menu.

Why not pop to the pub and grab your Ringer’s Ramble Pack complete with a map showing the best local walking routes, local beer, a handmade sausage roll, frazzles, an apple, and a hunk of regional cheese. Then away you go for a lovely Devon stomp!

The Half Moon Inn, Cheriton Fitzpaine (0.9 miles, walkable).

Our other local pub, just in the village and walking distance. They don't have a website and do not take reservations. It's an authentic local Devon pub. No frills here but serving a great pint and honest pub grub Wednesday to Friday evenings.

The Agricultural InnBrampford Speke

A busy, popular pub, with a menu designed to offer casual fine dining with an emphasis on using high quality British ingredients from carefully selected, award-winning farmers and producers. Offering lunch, dinner and afternoon teas. The Agi, as it's known by locals, sits in the heart of the picturesque village of Brampford Speke and only a short walk away from the beautiful banks of the River Exe.

The Beer Engine (7.1 miles)

Devon’s oldest working brew pub is housed in a 19th Century coaching inn in the picturesque village of Newton St Cyres. Famous for its beer brewed on site and local ciders, with a split level beer garden to enjoy the sun. Bar snacks on offer and a separate restaurant offering a quieter eating experience.

The Lost Kitchen, Tiverton

A lovely spot for lunch, coffee or a slice of cake at tea time. Only open for occasional evenings. Serving up delicious wood-fired food. Using some of the best local ingredients, they offer seasonal food within a modern European menu.

This beautifully informal and very friendly restaurant is a short drive from the centre of Tiverton and walking distance from the National Trust's Knightshayes Court so you can combine an excellent lunch with a beautiful walk & some history.
