Holly Water Cabin

About us

We have lived in this beautiful part of Devon since 2008 and created Holly Water Cabin so that others could enjoy it too.

It's a very special place and we hope you'll appreciate the glorious views, luxurious comfort and attention to detail that runs throughout.

We find that a self check-in works best as it means no stress if you're running late or get held up. But if you'd like to meet us and be shown around we're always happy to do that.

You may get the odd visit from one of our dogs or cats, but otherwise you'll find you are in blissful isolation.

Local company, Out of the Valley, who are based on Dartmoor built the cabin using timbers entirely sourced from Devon sawmills. The internal walls are finished with highly breathable natural clay plaster to keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

We look forward to welcoming you,

Sara & Ed Burnand

Wildlife & Environment

There is a rich abundance of wildlife here at Marsh Farm.. The fields around Holly Water Cabin are part of an Environmental Scheme for wild birds, and are sown with a mix of seed-bearing crops that flower in the Summer, and in the Winter provide much needed food for birds and wildlife.

We often see deer and have been lucky enough over the years to see kingfishers, barn owls and even an otter.

By day you’ll hear a huge range of birdsong including the distinctive buzzard’s call and then the owls take over at night!

Small fish inhabit the stream and there are lots of damsel flies, dragon flies and butterflies in the Summer months.

Please note this is a working farm so there may be some occasional noise from farm machinery. We try and keep this to a minimum during guests' stays.
